Red Lake received NOHFC funding

Groups in the Red Lake area are sharing $30,000 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

It’s to help offset the costs associated with couple of special events in that community, including this past weekend’s 100th anniversary of the discovery of gold.

Three days of activities were planned in Red Lake and $15,000 has been granted.

The municipality will use the funding to cover the costs of entertainment, equipment and venue rentals over the three days of the event.

Also, another $15,000 will go towards the Highway 105 Marketing Board to help put on this year’s Norseman Festival.
