Sioux Lookout OPP are investigation what they call a serious assault on Millar Crescent last Friday.
Police say shortly before 6 pm, a person was located with life-threatening injuries.
The victim remains in hospital.
The OPP’s Crime Unit is continuing its investigation.
Initial reports show this to be an isolated incident, and police say the public is not at risk.
But as a result of the on-going investigation, residents in that area of Sioux Lookout can expect to see an increased police presence.
