Hollywood has lost a star.
Beloved and legendary actor-turned-director Robert Redford is dead ay 89-years-old, according to multiple reports.
Sources say the Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid and The Way We Were star passed away in his sleep early Tuesday morning while at his home in Utah. No further details have been released at this time.
Redford also founded the non-profit Sundance Institute that showcases independent filmmakers and improved an iconic Utah film festival in the 80s.
He was also known as an environmental and climate justice advocate and for 30 years, he was a trustee for the Natural Resources Defense Council.
