Kenora is the latest community to cancel fireworks on Canada Day.
The decision was made after consultation with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Despite recent rain locally, Ontario is still under a Restricted Fire Zone.
The RFZ has been in place since June 1st.
Fire chief Dave Pratt says the potential of fireworks starting a wildland fire is too extreme at this time.
Last week, the Town of Sioux Lookout also cancelled it’s fireworks scheduled for July 1st.
