Hey Kenora! It’s Caleb from 89.5 The Lake. Today’s show was packed! From reflections on Truth and Reconciliation to Blue Jays celebrations. If you missed it, I got you covered. But be sure to tune in between 2 and 6pm, Monday to Friday, for the full experience!

Truth and Reconciliation: More Than a Day Off
Tomorrow is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It’s a time to reflect, listen, and learn. At 89.5 The Lake, we’re joining stations across Canada for A Day to Listen. This will be a special broadcast amplifying Indigenous voices and stories.
This isn’t just a day off. It’s a day to remember the children who never came home, the families who carry that pain, and the communities still healing. So, between errands and football practice, why not take a moment? Tune in. Talk with your kids. Healing starts with listening. And listening starts with us.
Canada Post Strike: Snail Mail Meets Snowbanks
Canada Post workers are on strike, and it’s not just about stamps. Ottawa wants to end door-to-door delivery, which could hit seniors and small businesses hard. Especially in places like Kenora.
That said, where there is crisis there is opportunity. I had an idea that may or may not work. And someone used our TBay Tel Talk and Text line to give me their thoughts. Take a listen!
Blue Jays Fever: From Worst to First!
The Toronto Blue Jays just clinched the AL East title for the first time in a decade! They crushed Tampa Bay 13–4 and now skip straight to the Division Series with home-field advantage.
So grab your Jays cap, fire up the nachos, and get ready for some very Canadian October baseball. It’s not just a win for Toronto, it’s a win for Canada!

Local Sports & Hometown Heroes
YourKenora.ca is your go-to for real local journalism. Whether it’s Tim Davidson keeping us informed on local news and sports, or Arcade Zilinski telling the stories behind the scoreboards. From high school football to community heroes, YourKenora.ca is the place to go.
Speaking of heroes, don’t forget to nominate a Hometown Hero. If you’ve ever made life better for someone else, you’re already one. Contact me if you’re interested and I’ll get the ball rolling!
Call Me Maybe…
I couldn’t help but mention this video again. I love song breakdowns like this, and this is definitely one of my favourite pop songs of the last decade.
