Whitefish Bay hosts animal wellness clinic

Three First Nations south of Kenora are teaming up for provide its first ever animal wellness clinic.

Naotkamegwanning First Nation (Whitefish Bay), Animakee Wa Zhing (formerly Northwest Angle#37), and Northwest Angle are teaming up with the Leo Project to offer the service. It will take place on Saturday at Baibombeh School in Whitefish Bay.

The clinic will provide things like pet grooming, vaccinations, microchipping, and pet health checks.

Whitefish Bay chief Gary Tom says he appreciates the work of the Leo Project and the help they are providing with this clinic.

“The services provided by the Leo Project are vital for improving animal health, and supporting a safer, healthier community overall.”

A veterinarian and veterinary technicians will be on hand to help out.

As many as 100 pets are expected on a first come first serve basis.

The clinic will run from 10 am until 3 pm.
