The Kenora & Lake of the Woods Community Foundation’s Annual Festival of Trees Charity Fundraiser has been a beloved holiday tradition in our community and region, since 2004. The Annual Festival of Trees Charity Fundraiser is the Community Foundation’s largest fund-raising event and assists us in accomplish our mission of helping to improve community living and the quality of life for citizens and visitors to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region. Since our inception in 2004, we have distributed grants of over $6 Million, while our endowment funds have grown to $10 Million.
Each year, families, individuals, organizations, and businesses, donate beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, and prizes to be auctioned at a Gala Night of Philanthropy. Earlier the same day, “Community Day”, features a series of musical performances from local children and adult choirs, individual and group performances and even a singing dog! Community Day participants are able to view the decorated trees and wreaths and enjoy gingerbread cookies and hot apple cider.
Traditionally, hundreds of people attend Community Day.
