Red Moon Road: Simple Kind of Christmas

Red Moon Road is back on the road, ready to tour across Manitoba and Ontario for the holiday season.

They have several tour dates in Manitoba, including Churchill, Minnedosa, Carman, Portage La Prairie and Winnipeg.

Their only Ontario stop is Kenora on Dec. 6, which is a special place for Red Moon Road’s Daniel Jordan.

“We played house concerts and on barges, and I grew up on the lake,” he said.

“A lot of our early songs, we’ve been inspired by some of my time out on the water, so really, for Kenora, it’s a bit like coming home.”

At this concert, Red Moon Road will perform their most recent Christmas album, A Simple Kind of Christmas – Deluxe Edition, released in 2023.

Every year, Red Moon Road likes to add fun additions to the mix.

“One of the things we’re doing this year is like a really funkified full band version of some of the excerpts out of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.”

Red Moon Road’s style is inspired by different influences: Daniel Jordan grew up with the classics like the Beatles, Sheena Rattai grew up with gospel and funk, and Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner grew up playing heavy-metal French progressive rock, which collectively formed their sound.
