KPDSB resumes fireside chats

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is continuing it’s fireside chats with it’s Director of Education.

The next one will take place at Dryden High Schol next week.

Director of Education Christy Radbourne says it’s a good way to connect with parents and guardians.

“We’re really trying to reach out to parents, giving them an opportunity to engage with schools, and school officials, and give them ideas on how they can stay engaged in their kids’ education,” explains Radbourne.

“We going to talk about some of the initiatives we’re doing at KP (the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board) which include our math instruction, math achievement and really trying to address attendance.”

Radbourne says they have both live and virtual options for the fireside chat.

“We them last year as well…every one of our area catchments. We’re doing them again this year and we’ve added this year the Facebook livestream, so parents don’t have to come out in person.”

The fireside chat will take place on January 15th from 6:30 to 7:30 and will be livestreamed on Facebook.
