KDSB names new Red Lake seniors complex Woodland Terrace

Red Lake’s most recent senior’s housing complex will be known as Woodland Terrace.

The KDSB sought community input on a new name back in November.

More than 100 ideas were received.

The KDSB short-listed the selection to six options and asked the community once more to weigh in, with “Woodland Terrace” being selected.

The Kenora District Services Board is in the process of transforming the Norsman Inn.

The KDSB says during the pandemic, they used the motel as an isolation facility.

In talking to the community it was determined there was a need for more seniors housing.

Woodland Terrance, once ready for occupancy, will have 10 one-bedroom units.
