Small decrease in outflow from Norman Dam authorized

The Lake of the Woods Control Board says overall, it’s been a fairly dry winter.

The snow-pack ranges from 20 to 60 centimeters and that’s below normal for this time of year.

As a result, water levels on Lake of the Woods continue to go down.

They declined about 2 centimeters last week.

The Control Board has authorized a small decrease in outflow through the Norman Dam today to reduce the decrease in water levels.

Over the next seven days, they are expected to drop about 1 centimeter.

That means water levels beneath the dam will go down 5 centimeters and 2 centimeters at the Dalles.
