Kenora OPP seize drugs, tasers in bust

Members of the Kenora detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are laying charges against two Kenora locals after a search last Thursday turned up a large haul of illegal substances.

OPP officers turned up suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and hydromorphone pills, as well as a large sum of cash and two tasers.

The drugs have a total value of about $12,500.

The two suspects, a 31-year-old and a 53-year-old, are facing charges of possessing substances for trafficking, as well as charges of possessing prohibited weapons, and failing to comply with bail and probation orders.

The 31-year-old remains in custody and has an appearance scheduled with the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on February 19.

The 53-year-old has been released from custody and will face the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on March 16.
