Hammarskjold’s boys curling team earns opening win at OFSAA curling championships in Thunder Bay

The Hammarskjold Vikings boys curling team has won its opening game at the all-Ontario curling championships at the Port Arthur Curling Club.

Skip Warren Stroud guided the team to a 10-2 victory over Maxwell Heights from Oshawa.

The Vikings’ foursome jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four ends.

The team is back on the ice at 6:30 p.m. tonight against Bishop Allen Academy from Etobicoke.

In other evening draw games, St. Patrick’s High School boys team from Thunder Bay opens their tournament with a game against Iroquois Falls.

Kenora’s St. Thomas Aquanis boys team faces Guelph C.V.I.
