Spring melt underway and water levels starting to rise

With temperatures getting above the freezing mark this week, the spring melt is underway.

The Lake of the Woods Control Board says water levels increased about 5 centimeters this past week.

Due to another storm system in the region, the lake is expected to 6 to 8 centimeters over the next seven days.

Despite the increase in water levels, outflow from the Norman Dam will stay the same.
