Judy Kokopenace, a resident of Kenora, Ontario passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2026 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

She was predeceased by her great grandparents Paul and Mary Assin, Joseph John and Lucy Kokokopenace, grandparents Colin and Jessie Assin, Willie Keewatin and Margaret Necanapenace, her parents Murphy Necanapenace, Lela Bernice Kokokopenace, her siblings Leroy, Ruby, Randy, Murphy Kokokopenace and her aunts Sally and Ruby and father-in-law Bryan Beardy.

She is survived by her daughter Kirsten Kokokopenace-Beardy, son Murphy Kokopenace, adopted mom Evelyn Pahpasay, her common-law spouse Daniel Dueck, Thomas (Tommy) Keesick, her mother-in-law Leah Quequish, adopted father Daniel (David) Beardy-father of her kids/Ex common in law, aunts Evelyn Kokokopenace, Clara, Brenda, Evelyn, Susan, Linda, Sandra Necanapenace and Sandra Spears, uncle Clarence Assin and nieces Sally Kokokopenace and Tanisha Assin.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Wake service will begin on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2:00pm at the Trapper’s Building in Grassy Narrows, Ontario. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 10:00am at the Trapper’s Building in Grassy Narrows, Ontario with interment to follow.
