Welcome to the first Kenora Pickleball Club’s Ladders report.
We play Wednesday mornings, Evenings and Thursday mornings. With approximately 100 players involved in the three events, it is a good way to compare your Pickleball skills, meet different people, and have some fun.
I run the Wednesday morning Ladders. This Wednesday it was just a little too cold so we cancelled but we will hit the courts running next Wednesday.
The Wednesday Evening event, after playing six games, Jun Laffin and Robert Scatliff beat out Korelle McDonald and Sibin Sailby.
Sibin Sailby was the Boston Pizza “Player of the Night” for moving up from court 4 to court 8 in just 6 games…great play Sibin. I played last week and started on Court 5 and ended up losing on court 6 so I know how hard tough it is to move up. Maybe it is just my skills !!!
The Thursday Morning Ladders had 24 members took part on a cool morning with some winds from the South. Things heated up soon after play got under way. There appeared to be many battles in all 3 groups with Murray Bamforth and Ian Davidson – Hunt finishing at the top in Group 1 with 69 out of 77 points.. In Group 2 it was Gord Cavanagh coming out in the top spot with 72 out of 77 points. In Group 3, it was Judy Cottam with a perfect score, 77 out of 77. She never lost a game. Judy was a guest for the day but has decided to join our group and is now registered and part of us. Welcome Judy!
The A&W “Player of the Week” is ” Gord Cavanagh”. He was the winner of Group 2 and moved up 6 spots to get there.
