Red Lake is one of 11 communities to share $1.2 million in federal money for transit projects.
The municipality is using $50,000 to do a transportation study.
It wants to find out what the needs are for public transportation and the demand for transit.
The study will also look at possible transit solutions.
The town is contributing $10,000 of its own money for the study.
