Cool month of May ends in sweltering heat

The month of May was a bit cooler and drier than normal.

The daily mean temperature was 10 degrees.

That’s almost two degrees cooler than normal.

The last week of the month helped turn around what would have been a very cool month.

The daily mean temperature was 5 degrees colder than usual earlier in the month, but very warm temperatures pushed the daily mean up.

The hottest day was on Friday, when the thermometer hit 33.5 degrees.

Kenora also recorded 26.2 millimeters of precipitation, while was a mix of rain and snow.

We usual get 63 millimeters.
