A cottage on Channel Island near Kenora has been destroyed by fire.
The McKenzie Clearwater Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded with one of their fire boats around 5:30.
By the time they arrived at the scene, neighbors had already started battling the blaze with their own pumps
Fire chief Dale Charbonneau gives them credit for keeping the fire from spreading into the bush.
A Ministry of Natural Resources water bomber and a helicopter also assisted in preventing the spread of the fire.
Today, MNR forest fire fighters are on the scene looking for any hot spots and helping to clean up the area.
The OPP say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
