Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation receives funding for trails

The Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation (Dalles) First Nation is getting $50,000 to construct a trail system in the community.

A plan has already been developed for new trails, pathways and sidewalks across the First Nation.

The money comes from the federal government’s Active Transportation Fund.

The trail system will connect things like the band office, daycare, playgrounds, and homes.

The band says the development of a trail network is important to establishing safe and accessible travel routes in the community.
