A couple of recreational features in the City of Kenora have been closed down because of Monday’s storm.
The Rabbit Lake Trail at Garrow Park is temporarily closed.
Extensive damage has been caused to sections of the trail, making it impassable at this time.
The trail will remain closed until assessment and repair work is carried out.
In the meantime, the Garrow Park playground, outdoor exercise stations, beach, washrooms, and pickleball courts remain open.
The pickleball courts are currently operating at reduced capacity after a section of fencing was damaged during the storm.
While repairs are underway, half of the courts will remain available for public use.
The Rotary Splash Park is also closed for the remainder for the week.
The storm resulted in flooding and drainage challenges at the park.
The playgrounds, washrooms, accessible paved path remain open.
The splash pad will remain closed until maintenance work is complete.
The good news is that the Transfer Station is open again after being closed for over a day due to flooding in the weigh scale building.
