Two people are in custody following an investigation into an aggravated assault in Slate Falls First Nation.
Officers with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service were called about the incident on Friday.
An injured man was located in the Porcupine Road area and taken to the community’s nursing station before being transported to Thunder Bay for further evaluation.
Police say the extent of his injuries was not known but considered them to be serious.
A 23-year-old from Slate Falls and a 22-year-old from Cat Lake First Nation were later arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
They appeared for a bail hearing on Sunday and will remain in custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday.
