Dryden standoff ends peacefully


The Dryden OPP say they have safely apprehended a person who barricaded himself in an apartment complex.

This comes following a heavy police presence in the Duke Street and Earl Avenue area Monday morning.

Police were called to a disturbance at an apartment complex around 3:30 a.m., there officers learned an individual had barricaded themselves in an apartment.

Members of the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were deployed to assist.

Around 7:30 a.m. the 37 year old exited the apartment and was taken to hospital for assessment.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the area has since been cleared.
