Hefty fine for illegal moose hunt

A southwestern Ontario hunter faces a large fine for shooting at a moose near Ear Falls.

Back in October of 2022 Remo Iacobelli of Camlachie killed a bull moose.

He fired several shots at the moose while they were both on Shanty Road.

Court was told that Iacobelli failed to take reasonable consideration for people in the area and anyone that could have been travelling on the roadway.

Iacobelli pleaded guilty to careless use of a firearm while hunting and has been fined $7,000.

He also had his hunting licence suspended for two years and has to take the Hunter Safety course again.
