Correctional officer recruits giving back

Correctional officer recruits are giving back to the community.

They are collecting items for Women’s Place Kenora.

Emma Johnson is leading the charge and says they’ll be at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center all weekend.

“In response to the opportunity this community has given us, we will be collecting winter clothing for all, none perishable food items and any cash or debit donations,” says Johnson.

Jordan Deserre is also one of the correctional officer recruits taking part in the clothing drive.

“We are encouraging donations of lightly used winter clothing for all sizes, nonperishable food items. We will also have PayPal available at our stand for any debit donations.”

They’ll be set up between 9 in the morning until 9 at night both Saturday and Sunday.
