Arson charge laid following Dryden apartment fire

A 34 year old Dryden woman faces several charges as a result of fires set in apartment.

On Monday night just before midnight, the OPP and the Dryden Fire Service responded to an alarm on First Street.

A resident of the adjacent apartment indicated that smoke could be seen and fire alarms could also be heard.

Residents of the building were evacuated and fire fighters managed to put out two blazes.

It was determined that the fires were set by the occupant of the apartment.

She was released from custody on Tuesday, but around 7:00 last night, police were advised that someone was breaking into the unit where the fire was set.

A window was broken and property in the unit was destroyed.

In addition to the arson charges, she has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and break and enter.
