Red Lake woman charged in Dorion robbery

A weekend robbery at a Dorion business has resulted in charges against a woman from Red Lake.

Ontario Provincial Police, along with its Emergency Response Team and the Anishinabek Police Service received a call of a robbery in progress at the Canyon Country Co-op at 5:12 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival they located the 34 year old woman in the area of the store and took her into custody without incident.

She’s been charged with:

  • Robbery with violence contrary to Section 344(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Uttering Threats – to cause death or bodily harm contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Mischief Under $5000.00 contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code
  • Theft Under $5000.00 – shoplifting contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused remains in custody and awaits a bail hearing.
