Lake of the Woods Control Board issues special notice

The Lake of the Woods Control Board has sent out a special notice about lake conditions.

It says due to the unually mild conditions the snow pack is at near record lows in some parts of the drainage basin.

At the same time the lake continues to decline.

It went down 2 centimeters last week, and is expected to go down one to two centimeters in the next seven days.

The Control Board says it still too early to say what the next couple of months will bring in terms of snow and/or rain, so it’s maintaining outflows at the Norman Dam for the time being.
