With family by her side and a resident of Wiigwas long-term care facility passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 at lake of the Woods District Hospital. The family would like to thank ICU Dr.’s and health practitioners who cared for her and made her comfortable in her last moments.

She is survived by her children Steve (Audrey) and Valerie, and daughter in-law Pamela. With her grandchildren Samuel Jr., Sena, Shann (Kylee), Aaron, Russell, Dawson, Amanda (Bobby), Alicia (Kyle), Wade and great grandchildren Sammi, Unytez, Waabii, November, Lily, Meadow, Erza, Sylas, Kaysen, Kaydi, Navarro, Taijah, Leeah, Halley; and 2 siblings Leroy and Jo ann. Along with many extended family members.

She predeceased by her 2 children Samuel and Preston and parents Bertha and Samuel, and other extended family members.

Our mother, our gandmother, our great grandmother, our sister, our auntie, our beloved teacher has suddenly journeyed into the spirit world. She will be missed by many whom she loved and adored deeply. Her guidance and teachings have touched many, as she loved working as an indigenous Spiritual supporter and mentor. Her guidance and belief were one she took to heart. She especially took to heart in sharing the joy of celebrations and gatherings on special occasions with family and friends.

A wake service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Peshigoneb Cultural Centre, Whitefish, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at Peshigoneb Cultural Centre with interment to follow in Whitefish Bay First Nation.
