Saints reach volleyball final

The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints senior girls volleyball team will play in the final of the NWOSSA volleyball championship in Manitouwadge.

The Saints won both their games on Wednesday.

They swept the LaVerendrye Viperes of Thunder Bay in their first match by scores of 25-17, 25-10, and 25-22.

They then defeated the host Manitouwadge Wolverines by scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 25-16.

The Saints will face LaVerendrye in the final this morning.

A second game will be played this afternoon if the Saints lose.

The winner advances to the provincial championship to be played in Elliott Lake and Blind River in early March.
