Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday

Canadians are invited to help promote diversity and respect in schools, workplaces and communities by wearing pink Wednesday.

Pink Shirt Day originated in 2007 after two Nova Scotia teenagers encouraged their fellow students to wear pink t-shirts in support of a peer who was being bullied.

Since then, the movement has expanded to include people of all ages in any environment, including online.

Schools, businesses, communities and governments across Canada now recognize the last Wednesday in February as Pink Shirt Day.

The theme for this year is “All Kinds of Kindness.”
