Dryden man drowns while trying to save dog

A tragic incident in Dryden this week.

A man fell through the ice near Keller Road on Monday.

The OPP say he was trying to rescue his dog.

Officers attended with water rescue equipment as well as a drone in attempts to locate them.

The Dryden Fire Service also was on the scene with ice rescue equipment.

After an extensive search of the area, the man and his dog were both found deceased.

Due to warmer temperatures, ice conditions on area rivers and lakes are deemed to be unstable at this time of the year and the OPP are reminding people to use caution.
