New hospital confirmed once again for Kenora

The premier has confirmed a new hospital will be built in Kenora.

He made the comments in Thunder Bay yesterday during a stop in that city.

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says they are just waiting for the federal government to come in and also provide some funding.

“I think the only residual question, and the one we have put while all this progress is going on, is where are the feds?” Rickford told a news conference in Thunder Bay on Thursday.

“So far we haven’t heard anything from the federal government, in terms of a substantial, if any, contribution to build out any hospital to serve the farther parts of northwestern Ontario.”

The All Nations Hospital Committee has been hard at work for several years trying to bring it to fruition.

Last month the Ministry of Health put up a social media post confirming a new hospital as well, but took it down shortly afterwards.
