City hires new consultant to study sewer and water system

The City of Kenora is going with a different consultant to form their next sewer and water long range plan.

Watson and Associates made a presentation to city council this week.

Peter Simcisko says they’ll be looking at everything including water delivery to multi-residential units.

“We’ll be looking at different options potentially for those multi-unit buildings or just generally where there are multiple units or a buildings serviced by a meter and how most appropriately to charge out for those,” Simcisko told Kenora city council during his deputation.

Simcisko confirms that their report will look at everything include water delivery rates.

“As part of that analysis we going to be looking at both the services or rates applicable for piped service delivery as well as truck delivery rates.”

Ultimately, Watson and Associates will propose new sewer and water rates for the city.

A final report is expected in the fall.
