NOSM University awards two local health providers

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine has recognized 19 preceptors, 11 faculty members, five students, two staff and two alumni.

The awards were presented at the annual University Achievement Celebration and Excellence in Health Education and Research ceremony.

Two of the honorees were from this region.

An Innovative Preceptor award went to Fraser Stephenson from Sioux Lookout.

The late Chuck Schmitt was also announced as an Honorary Alumni Award winner.

He had been working as a physician recruiter at the the Dryden Regional Health Center at the time of his death.
