Rainfall means higher water levels

Above normal rainfall has raised the level of Lake of the Woods about 13 centimeters in the past week.

That’s according to the Lake of the Woods Control Board.

Despite the increase, the Control Board says we are still well below the high water mark set in 2022.

Water levels are 6 centimeters above the normal summer level, and is within the normal range for this time of the year.

The lake is expected to go up another 6 to 9 centimeters, depending on rainfall and inflows into the lake.
