Drug charges laid on Fort Hope

A 35 year old woman from Fort Hope (Eabametoong) has been arrested on drug charges.

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service says it executed a search warrant on Fort Hope on Wednesday.

Police say they seized a quantity of cocaine, cannabis and other items associated with drug trafficking.

NAPS says the search warrant was obtained because of an on-going investigation about drug trafficking from that address.

She face one charge of trafficking cocaine and for unlawfully distributing cannabis.

The accused has been released from custody and will appear in court in September to answer the charges.

Fort Hope is about 370 kilometers northeast of Thunder Bay.
