Lawrance and Sachowski recognized by alPHa

Two members of the Northwestern Health Unit’s board have received provincial recognition.

Doug Lawrance, who is the mayor of Sioux Lookout and is the current chair of the Heath Unit’s board, has been presented the 2024 Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Local Public Health Agencies.

Trudy Sachowski has also been elected a chair of Ontario’s public health agency, or alPHa.

Lawrance has been on the local health board since 2019 and Sachowski since 2013.

They both accepted the recognition at the alPHa AGM and conference in Toronto earlier this month.
