Kenora anglers win bass championship

The Kenora angling team of Ian Waterer and Motei Demers are this year’s winners of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.

The last team to weigh in on Saturday bagged 19.39 lbs of bass on the final day of fishing to give them a three-day total of 59.54 lbs.

Waterer and Motei were at the top of the leaderboard on Thursday and Friday.

Thunder Bay anglers James Hill and Chris Viel held the lead briefly before Waterer and Demers weighed in and finished second with 57.5 lbs.

Mike Badiuk and Kyle Turgeon of Fort Frances placed third with 57.32 lbs.
