ABC has pulled popular late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, off the air indefinitely after comments made about Charlie Kirk.
Sources say the move came after, Nexstar Media Group, announced its 32 stations affiliated with ABC will yank the show starting Wednesday evening.
“Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse,” says President Andrew Alford. “We do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views or values of the local communities in which we are located.”
During his monologue Monday, Kimmel suggested Kirk’s alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, may have been a pro-Trump republican.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” said Kimmel.
“In between the finger pointing, there was, uh, grieving — on Friday, the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this,” added Kimmel.
A clip was then showed of Trump speaking about construction on a ball room at the White House when asked how he was doing following Kirk’s death.
