All SIJHL playoff series start 2-0

All of the best-of-seven playoff series in the first round of the SIJHL playoffs are at 2-0.

The biggest surprise is that the Dryden GM Ice Dogs, playing at home lost twice to the Red Lake Miners.

The Miners won 4-3 in overtime on Saturday and then 4-1 on Sunday.

No upsets are brewing in the other series and the Kam River Fighting Walleye topped the Kenora Islanders 8-0 and 8-3.

The Sioux Lookout Bombers got by the Fort Frances Lakers 8-0 and 7-3.

The other series saw the Thunder Bay North Stars defeat the Wisconsin Lumberjacks by scores of 6-4 and 9-0.

Tonight game 3 between and tomorrow night’s game 4 between the North Stars and the Lumberjacks have been postponed because of the weather.
