The first aquatic invasive species blitz of the season has been conducted by the Manitoba government and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
They stopped 136 westbound vehicles on Highway 1 near the Ontario/Manitoba border on the last weekend of May.
In all, 167 vessels were checked.
Most, 99, were compliant with the clean, drain and dry requirements.
But 68 were not and failed the inspection.
Another 14 required decontamination and one had visible zebra mussels present.
