Celebrating 20 years of ‘High School Musical’

Did you know the first High School Musical movie came out exactly 20 years ago, in 2006? It was era of low-rise jeans, leggings under dresses, and oversized belts.

Whether it was part of your childhood, your siblings’, or your kids’, the film changed the game for modern musicals.

Notably, it jump-started the careers of Zac Efron (T for Troy…if you know, you know) and Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Montez).

To celebrate the anniversary, Rolling Stone ranked every song from the first film:

  1. ‘Stick to the Status Quo’
  2. ‘Start of Something New’
  3. ‘Breaking Free’
  4. ‘Get’cha Head In the Game’
  5. ‘We’re All in This Together’
  6. ‘What I’ve Been Looking For’
  7. ‘When There Was Me and You’
  8. ‘What I’ve Been Looking For (Reprise)’
  9. ‘Bop to the Top’

Do you agree with this list? If you had to rearrange this list, what would your top three be?
