Charges laid in a fatal MVC on the by-pass

Charges have been laid in connection to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17-A near Kenora last winter.

The two-vehicle accident took place on February 20th, 2024, on the Kenora By-Pass between a commercial motor vehicle and an SUV.

The driver of the transport was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken by Northwest EMS for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV only sustained minor injuries.

As a result on the year-long investigation, a 31-year-old from Brampton has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driver causing bodily harm.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear in Kenora Court on Monday, May 12th.
