Ontario has renamed its Medal for Good Citizenship to the Queen Elizabeth II Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship, in recognition of the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
The name change aims to recognize the late Queen’s lasting influence on the province.
Since 1973, the medal has honoured 573 Ontarians for their exceptional contributions to the community.
Nominations for the award are open annually on January 15, during which time residents are encouraged to recognize individuals who demonstrate outstanding civic engagement and leadership.
Details on how to submit a nomination can be found on the Ontario Honours and Awards Portal.
