City closing some functions at Thistle Rink this summer

A number of amenities at the Moncrief Sports Center will be out of service this spring and summer.

That’s because the concrete slab and rink boards are being replaced.

The walking track, dressing rooms and storage rooms will be off limits to the public during construction.

But the fitness center, New Horizons Seniors Center, physiotherapy and multi-purpose rooms will remain open.

The pool will be closed for it’s annual general maintenance this summer.

Work is expected to begin in early May after the Home and Leisure Show.
