The City of Kenora now has an emergency alert notification app.
It’s working with Voyent Alert to keep local residents informed during times of an emergency.
That includes things like fires, floods, evacuations, fire bans, service disruptions and other urgent information.
“Clear and reliable communication is an important part of public safety,” says Gord Howard, Fire Chief and Community Emergency Management Coordinator.
“Voyent Alert! helps us share important information quickly and directly with residents across the community.”
You can register for the app for free and it is anonymous.
Alerts can be received through mobile app, email, text message or voice call.
The emergency alert system allows you to track a number of locations including your home, or your kids school.
The alert system also ensures you only get notified when an urgent situation is relevent to you or the locations that are chosen.
