City of Kenora planning ambitious paving projects

The City of Kenora is planning a larger than usual municipal paving contract this year.

Greg Breen is the Director of Engineering and Infrastructure and says money for this year’s contract is a combination of municipal and provincial dollars.

“A huge package this year…$8.5 million estimated of paving work taking place with funding from the province…it’s a big season for us for construction,” Breen told council during a briefing last week.

“Touching on Lakeview Drive, of course the intersection at Lakeview Drive and Parson and Minnesota (Streets). Railway Street Phase 4 is in there. And then also a few locations in Lakeside…6th (Avenue) and 6th (Street) and 4th Avenue South. That project is fully tendered.”

Breen says the paving contract included 45 pages of drawings for the work.
