City planning to do renovations to council chambers

City council is setting aside $200,000 for upgrades to council chambers.

This includes a new sound system and cameras for livestreaming.

CAO Kyle Attanasio says they hope the work to install the new equipment can take place this summer.

“We typically take a break in August, so our goal is to try to move as close to that July council date as possible and try to get that work done here in advance of coming back in September COW (Committee of the Whole meeting).”

“We’re trying to get quotes and prepare so that we can move fairly quickly and not disrupt council business.”

The money would come from any surplus the city runs in 2023.
