Community Foundation hosts Festival of Trees

One of the biggest fundraisers of the year is taking place this weekend for the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation.

The Festival of Trees takes place Saturday.

Spokesperson for the foundation, Darlene MacGillivray says the gala dinner tomorrow night is sold out, but you can also attend the community day.

“There is the opportunity to come together as a community in the morning between 10 am and 2 pm to listen to a variety of Kenora’s musical treasures,” says MacGillivray.

“We have choirs, we have ensembles, we even have Chip the singing dog. There are basically 10 different musical groups to enjoy. When people come in, they can look at the beautifully decorated trees. We have 11 different trees from community groups, families and businesses.”

The Festival of Trees is taking place at the Clarion Lakeside Inn.

There is also a Twilight event at 8 pm for people who don’t want to attend the gala.
